‘World Architecture, The Masterworks’ (Thames & Hudson 2008, 2012)

What are the greatest buildings in the world? Obviously any answer is deeply subjective but once I’d defined some criteria I found the question compelling.

So armed with a commission by Thames & Hudson I went to find them. I photographed 105 buildings in 24 countries and wrote an architectural history of the world’s masterworks.

What interested me was that they came in clusters, the circumstances that are propitious for the creation of one great building being propitious for the creation of many.

'From Angkor Wat to St Paul’s Cathedral and everything in between ... a breathtaking tour around all the greats’ (Grand Designs)

'Sometimes it’s best to stand back and let a building speak for itself, and this beautifully photographed book by architectural specialist Will Pryce does just that ... a stunning tribute to architecture as art’ (The Bookseller)
