This landmark building by Rafael Vinoly Architects (RVA) replaces another landmark building, the original 1959 Edward Durrell Stone designed hospital. It updates it’s idea of open courtyards both through a grand central atrium and also open public spaces on the second and third floors. The building’s relatively low form integrates into the architectural character of the Stanford University campus. The shoot for RVA and Stanford University combined architectural photography with drone and helicopter photography.
